i Should Have Stayed in the Car

i was sitting in my car, and from behind the foggy windshield, and the pedestians nonchalantly waving me on, i thought the light was turning green. But i wasn't sure, so i drove forward just a little bit, careful not to drive too far out. i still couldn't tell, so i stepped out of the car, one foot in, one foot out. the light was still red. As i pondered for a second, about to step back into my car, a cop drove by on the intersecting street, giving me a hard stare. i didn't need his stare to know that i should have known better. Always stay in your car.
